The Victorian Government has released the draft Central and Gippsland Region Sustainable Water Strategy for consultation. This 10 year strategy outlines a series of directions for how we will meet the water supply shortfall in the future, while ensuring that our communities and environment are liveable and resilient.

400GL per annum generated by stormwater from urban areas throughout Victoria, should be seen as a key contributor to water security and we’ll be advocating for stronger commitments to realise this change in the next 10 years.

As part of Stormwater Victoria’s role to advocate for the stormwater industry, the association will be making a submission on behalf of our membership and we want to hear from you!

Stormwater Victoria provided feedback on the Draft Central and Gippsland Sustainable Water Strategy (referred to as the 'SWS') released in October 2021.  The release of the 2021 draft was considered to be an important milestone and represented a critical piece of work in setting the path for long-term planning for a sustainable and secure water supply.  Stormwater Victoria commended DELWP on the progress and leadership demonstrated, building on the 2006 Sustainable Water Strategy.

Following the launch of the Stormwater Quality Improvement Device Evaluation Protocol (SQIDEP) in December 2018, Stormwater Australia is now calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for interested parties to serve on the Independent Evaluation Panel (IEP) and be responsible for the assessment of submissions.

It is envisaged that a broad Panel of Peer Reviewers will be selected, with at least two panellists evaluating each submission in accordance with the Protocol.
