President's Report 2008

Formalities included a report by Stormwater Victoria President, Mr Andrew Allan on the activities and achievement of the committee in the 2007-08 year:
A number of successful events including:

2007 Victorian Stormwater Excellence Awards
Hosting the National Stormwater Excellence Awards
The annual November Seminar hosted in partnership with the Australian Water Association
Stormwater Topic Series seminars 2008

Establishing partnerships and alliances and contact with a range of key stakeholders and interest groups including:

Australian Institute of Landscape Architects
Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia (Victorian Division)
Association of Land Development Engineers
Australian Water Association
River Basin Management Society
Yarra Riverkeepers
Australian Conservation Foundation
Royal Australian Institute of Architects

In 2007-08 Stormwater Victoria was able to continue its role advocating for change in Policy and practice through its support for and submissions to a number of Government initiatives into stormwater, including:

Submissions to the following inquiries by the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission
- The Structure of the Metropolitan Retail Water Industry
- Victoria's Liveability
Participation in working groups and providing feedback into Stormwater Harvesting guideline documents
- Environmental Protection and Heritage Council Phase II Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling-Stormwater Harvesting and Reuse
- Victorian EPA Alternate Water Sources Regulatory Review- Stormwater
2020 Summit
- Stormwater Victoria in collaboration with the National Stormwater Industry Association prepared a letter and fact sheet for summit delegates highlighting the multiple benefits from stormwater harvesting in the face of climate change.

Election of 2008-09 Committee

A new committee of management was elected for the 2008-09 year. Nominations received exactly matched the number of available places so no vote was called. 2008-09 Office holders and Committee members are as follows

The 2008-09 committee would like to acknowledge all the effort and hard work of their predecessors. The work done by previous incumbents has been instrumental in providing a solid foundation upon which Stormwater Victoria can continue to build. In particular we would like to thank retiring committee members Steven Miller (Melbourne Water) and Glen Mansell (TGM Engineers) for their commitment and hardwork during their extended involvement with the committee.

Treasurer's Report 2008

The Treasurer's report showed an operating profit for the 2007-08 financial year with healthy reserves held in both cash and investment deposits.
