Registration is now available for the 2016 Stormwater Victoria June Breakfast Seminar 'Distributed Storages for Flood Mitigation - Do They Really Stack Up?'.

The Seminar will be held from 8.00 am to 10.30 am on Tuesday, 7th June at CQ Functions Centre, 113 Queen St, Melbourne.

The Seminar will focus on recent research regarding whetehr distributed (lot and local-scale) storages and WSUD can provide meaningful and cost-effective reduction in nuisance flooding (also considering the additional IWM benefits provided), and how these can be used to support resilience in the face of climate change.

The event will specifically provide attendees with:

1. An understanding of the recent research undertaken into the effectiveness of distributed storages in reducing flooding impacts, including an overview of modelling, costing methodologies and findings

2. An understanding of innovative distributed storage technologies being trialled within the region and their place in a catchment’s integrated water management strategy.

3. A forum for industry discussion/feedback regarding the key needs and next steps for progressing implementation of distributed storage systems.

Who Should Attend?

The Seminar will be relevant to water industry practitioners with an interest in flood effects reduction, supply/drainage infrastructure augmentation, waterway health and alternative water sources.

This Seminar will showcase the latest research findings, strategic direction and implementation solutions and will be of interest to drainage engineers, environmental/water resources managers/strategists, urban planners, landscape architects and related professions, from local government, water authorities, consultants and the development industry.
